On July 29, the World Customs Organization (WCO), the Egmont Group (EG), and FIU Hungary hosted a global webinar on cooperation between customs authorities and FIUs worldwide.
During the webinar, presenters outlined the main findings of the joint WCO/EG “Customs-FIU Cooperation Handbook” and expanded on the handbook implementation progress. They highlighted some success stories of collaborative work between customs authorities and FIUs. The event also provided details about the WCO/INTERPOL/Egmont Group cross-border control Operation Tentacle. Thank you to all who participated in this successful event.
The webinar is one of many joint projects that resulted from the fruitful EG engagement with the WCO. As a next step, the organizations are planning to co-host a conference in Budapest, Hungary to continue the discussion on enhanced FIU-Customs cooperation. The EG would like to extend its gratitude to the event partners for their longstanding support and cooperation.
