On October 20 and 21, 2021, the ECOFEL hosted a successful and informative two-day workshop on Cooperation and Information Sharing between FIUs, LEAs, and prosecutors with the Egmont Group’s Asia and Pacific region participants. Participants took part in a series of presentations highlighting the importance of cooperation and partnerships in the field.
By the end of the workshop, participants gathered a better understanding of enhancing the FIUs’ role in financial investigations, the importance of public-private partnerships, formal and informal cooperation mechanisms between FIUs and LEAs, and best practices for information sharing. The ECOFEL welcomed all participant engagement.
