From August 2-6, 2021, the ECOFEL hosted a successful 5-day, interactive Corporate Vehicles and Financial Products (CorFIN) course with 30 participants from FIUs in the Asia-Pacific region. Participants were led through presentations, case studies, and practical exercises to learn more about how to conduct advanced tactical analysis involving corporate vehicles and financial products.
By the end of the last day, participants were able to define corporate vehicles and financial products, recognize how they may be used in money laundering schemes, and analyze the financial flows linked to these vehicles and products. The ECOFEL welcomed the engagement of all the participants.
The ECOFEL would like to extend its appreciation to Mark van Thiel and Luis Afonso, who expertly conducted the course. The ECOFEL looks forward to its second workshop in October 2021 for the East and Southern Africa region.
